my horse does okay in a smooth snaffle but could use a little more on the stop and backup, plus slightly on the turns. Would this give a little more with that extra piece? she does good in a million dollar bit but she shakes her head so i want something softer but still has direction?

BEST ANSWER: It will help with all this because you also have mouth and nose pressure I ride most of my horses with combination bits to help with training and better turns they are great for older horses and for just starting a young one
i have a gilding that fights bits and is hard to stop will this bit help?

BEST ANSWER: If he fights the bit and is hard to stop, try putting a correction bit in his mouth. Find one with a large or medium port. That really gets them respecting the bit with minimal pressure and contact. I trained a horse that had bit issues and wouldn't shut her mouth, constantly played with the bit and ran right through them. I put a correction in her mouth and she was a completely different horse. Hope this helps!!
