Product Summary:

EasyCare New Easyboot Glove Back Country Boot
The New Easyboot Glove Back Country Boot features a soft, thick comfort cup gaitor to support the soft tissue area.  The front shield offers a sleeker fit.  This comes standard with a removable rear Snug Strap that assures security in wet or muddy conditions.  The modifications allow this boot to be used for both pleasure riding as well as a performance boot.  This is an ideal boot for medium to high mileage of 25-50 miles per week.  It is also an ideal replacement boot for a lost shoe.  Please see the Size Chart and Application Guide.  Take measurements following a trim.  Correct sizing is imperative for the successful use of these boots.  The Easyboot Back Country sizing is not comparable to steel shoe sizes.  The Back Country sizing allows for natural hoof growth throughout a six week trim cycle.  Measuring the hoof after the horse is freshly shod is recommended if boot is being worn over steel shoes.  Can be worn on the right or the left hoof.  The Snug Strap can be switched so that both pull rings are on the inside, giving you a left and a right boot.  Please allow the horse time to adjust to wearing these boots.  Conservative riding is best for the first time your horse is fitted with these.  Gradually increase duration and distance to allow your horse to become accustomed.  Not allowing time to break in the boots can lead to chafing.  Sold individually.

Have only used them briefly due to the weather. Easy to put on even the upper rubber is stiff. Went 2 miles and the horse didn't mind them at all.

2016 boot needs some fine tuning
I've been using the Backcountry boot for several years. At first, I thought the new 2016 design was great because they added a rear Velcro strap that holds the Velcro flaps more securely. Loose flaps were always a problem with the older version, especially in wet/muddy conditions. However, it didn't take the new strap long to fail. First, the 'rubber band' that holds the end of the strap down broke. Then the Velcro on the strap stopped 'sticking' (now we hold them closed with duct tape), followed by the Velcro becoming unraveled from the disintegrating strap. I called Easycare and told them about the problem and they sort of made 'we're looking at improvement' noises. But nonetheless, I still had to buy $$ replacement straps for every one of my boots. I'm in the process of trying out the Easyboot Glove to see if that works out better for our purposes. I bought a pair for one mare and so far so good. They're no more difficult to apply than the Backcountry, and are less $$

New BAck Country Boot is even better than the previous one
We've been using Back Country boots for over 4 years and they've worked so well for us. They stay on even in boot-sucking mud. We've saved a bunch of money on shoeing, and our natural hoof-care farrier is so pleased with the health of our horses feet. He says our QH mare now has 'mustang feet'. We just got the newer version of the boot for one of our horses and its much sturdier and stiffer than the original, so they're a bit harder to apply. I'm hoping after a few days and miles they'll 'break in' and be a little easier to get on. I REALLY like the addition of the new Velcro strap in the back versus just the Velcro square panels alone. It's easier to snug up the boot with the strap. When the strap gets worn I'm hoping I can just replace the strap instead of replacing the whole gator.

Unless your horse never moves, do not buy this product.
These boots aren't cheap, you'd think for the price they'd hold up, but that is absolutely NOT the case. They break, they come apart with even the lightest use. The fasteners that are used on of their products come apart, any fabric sewn to the rubber boot comes unstitched. I have spent a lot of money, thinking maybe it was just a fluke. It wasn't. I'm sending a box of broken boots to the company with a strongly worded letter about what quality actually is (they don't have a clue). I will NEVER buy or recommend ANY product from EasyBoot. EVER.

Is this a pair or per boot?
A shopper on Jun 24, 2016
BEST ANSWER: These boots are sold individually.
How do you know what size your horse will wear? I have a AQHA mare weighs about 1300lbs not sure on the size. How do you measure them for the boota
A shopper on May 10, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Go to the EasyCare Inc. website to help you measure your horses hooves for the boots. Unfortunately this website (Horse) will not allow me to include the link to EasyCare in my message! But just do a google search for "easycare boots", and on the home page there will be a link to help you measure your horses hooves.
Also, EasyCare will ship boot shells to you for a small price to help you try the fit for what you think the boot size should be based on the measurements you've made, before you purchase boot.
I am looking at the Easy Care hoof back country boot. Measuring my horse's hooves, the width is 127mm and the length is also 127mm. But that does not correlate to a size. Should I go for the length and get a wide boot? Not sure what size will work.

BEST ANSWER: You may need the wide, but unfortunately we could not guarantee fit in advance. It might be a good idea to call EasyCare directly at 800-447-8836.

Is this the same as the Easyboot Glove Back Country? They look very similar. I"m confused as I'm looking for the glove type (I had a model from last year).

BEST ANSWER: This is the new version of the back country.
