Wish it worked
I bought 2 of these for retired pastured horses, my mare developed an allergic reaction within 12 hrs, hives. The gelding is still wearing his, 2 wks now, but it doesn't seem to be helping with the flys on his face.

not remended for pasture with other horses
I can't keep it on my horses. They take it off of each other. Need a better way to fasten it.

defy the fly works great for a month or so for my llama
she wears large dog size. v strong effective citronella smell -even more so in the wind can smell from 7 ft away. trying horse one again but I have used them over last 5 yrs or so(so I must not have a strong aversion to durability. If collar breaks put the left over piece s in your barn near your fans or windows-can be hung so strong citronella smell circulates in stall near their face.

breaks easily
I was disappointed in the quality of this product. Wish it had velcro, rather than snaps & was better made. Mare wore it twice and it broke in half; not even near the snaps.

These are great for horses who are sensitive to flies
My mare is very sensitive to flies, so I do whatever I can to help her. In addition to fly spray, her fly mask and good barn fly control, this is a great addition. After reading the other reviewers who said theirs broke quickly, I was anticipating a similar experience. However, the first one lasted several weeks before breaking, and the second one is still going strong after that amount of time as well. By that time, they aren't repelling a huge amount of flies anymore anyway, so that's fine with me.Expect a few weeks of good performance out of these. If that's satisfactory to you, like it is to me, then you should be happy with your purchase.

the collar kept breaking on the black area of the collar and they seem to be to big for the neck of the horse...

I put the ten fly collars on ten broodmares in a 25 acre pasture. The collars worked very well while they were on, but the mares took them off. I found two--one broken, but the other one was simply unsnapped.

Defy the Fly Horse Collar
I bought 4 and they all broke with in the first week. They worked great until they broke. All of mine tended to break wear the white meets the black. I would say don't waste your money.

Worked Great Until It Broke
I really liked this collar, especially with the snaps, but it only lasted 2 weeks before the collar disintegrated, breaking into 4 pieces. Very disappointing. And my mare isn't all that hard on fly collars. If they ever up the quality, I'll buy again. For now they're a waste of money.

Poor Product
I was hoping this product would help my horses in which it did for all about 3 hrs., then the horses rubbed them off and broke the snaps that hold the collar on their necks. I thought I could fix them with velcro, velcro worked but the rest of the collar broke apart at the seam before the snap. Until they fix the problem It is a big waste of money cuz it won't stay on the horses the way it is now.

it keeps the flies off of the horse's face, but doesn't make the horse's head hot and sweaty in July and August

I really like the idea of a fly collar. My horse will not keep a fly mask on him no mater the type or style. The only problem is it breaks easily. My horse is in a pasture and I will find it ripped apart where the white area starts. I usually duck tape it together and it will last a little longer.

Want to try this brand. A different brand is helping discourage flies around the head of one horse. I have 3 others needing more protection than just their fly masks.

wanted to try it, but it is cheaply made and does not work as promised. Will not buy again
