(Additional camera(s) required for split view.) One-way audio capability means the camera can send sounds to the monitor but not from the monitor to the camera.

Do you need a cellular signal for this to work for example in the mountains where we lose cell signal?

BEST ANSWER: No, but it is important that the antennas can "Talk" to the antenna on the trailer and on the truck. You need to hard wire the cameras to the battery as well.
